Kearl Long Range Plant Scheduler

Job description

  • Reports to Scheduling Supervisor
  • Develops and manages plant long range schedules
  • Manages scheduling resource profile including allocation & optimization 


Primary job function:

  • Communication is key in all aspects of your day
  • Formulate quality schedules for all maintainable assets
  • Create, adjust and update the 28 day, 90 day and 1 year schedule necessary to manage Kearl maintenance
  • Work closely with Planning, Execution, Operations targeting fully integrated schedules
  • Resource and capacity level schedules to facilitate resource forecasting
  • Report on annual PM forecasts
  • Assist with requests for correct SAP set-up, KPI’s and cost centers
  • Assist in cost and resource analysis
  • Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities
  • Provide recommendations to the Cross Functional Asset Level Teams on resource utilization
  • Develop and provide scheduling stewardship as defined by business unit
  • Support a continuous improvement culture and champion Kearl Business Process
  • Conduct cross functional reviews with operations, technical, maintenance, management, planning
  • Work closely with Planning, Execution, Operations targeting fully integrated schedules

Qualifications

Academic:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Technical certification preferred – Trades certification or Project Management

Other:

  • 5 years industry experience – Plant Planning or Project Management
  • Expertise in Scheduling Software (Prometheus/Primavera/Project)
  • Superior working knowledge of SAP
  • Strong working knowledge of PM management system;
  • Knowledge of Maintenance processes and oil sands maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with heavy industry planning, scheduling and execution concepts
  • Thorough working knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability practices
  • Continuous improvement skills and commitment to best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communication and influencing
  • Proven coaching and mentoring techniques and skills and an ability & desire to train others
  • Ability to work EDO Schedule from Calgary, ability to travel to site approximately 2-5 days per month
  • Occasional site coverage for short range schedulers onsite as required
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and safe driving record are required
