Vice-President, University Relations

Reporting directly to the President of MacEwan University, the Vice-President, University Relations is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the university's Government and Community Relations, Alumni and Development, and Sustainability functions. The Vice-President provides leadership, vision, and senior administrative oversight for internal and external relations in support of the university's strategic priorities. Leading and supporting the strategic positioning of MacEwan as an engaged downtown university, the Vice-President, University Relations will foster mutually beneficial multi-partner relationships with students, faculty, staff, governments and the community.

As the ideal candidate, you bring significant leadership experience in government relations, fund development, communications, and issues management within a complex, multi-focus organization, and have exceptional understanding of and skill in public sector relationship building techniques and concepts. Your superior interpersonal, written and verbal communications/presentation skills have contributed to your success in working cooperatively, respectfully and inclusively with a wide variety of stakeholders, and you have a proven ability to build and maintain networks of key contacts. An experienced leader, you have mentored and developed a diverse team of professionals in the accomplishment of strategic goals and objectives. You are passionate, energetic, decisive, assertive, highly organized and productive, as well as creative in order to develop new ideas in government relations, communications, donor relations and alumni relations. A graduate level university degree in a related field would be considered a strong asset.
