The Homeowner Protection Office, a branch of BC Housing, is responsible for licensing residential builders and building envelope renovators, administering owner builder authorizations, and carrying out research and education which benefits the residential construction industry and consumers. These responsibilities help bring about improvements in the quality of residential construction in B.C. and helps strengthen consumer protection for buyers of new homes.

Business Support Services Assistant (Short-term/Part-time - Approximately,until May 2018)

The Business Support Services Assistant responds to Service Desk requests from Home Office and satellite offices, performs general clerical support duties, operates the folder inserter machine for mail outs, and performs mail and switchboard/reception relief as required.



  • High school graduation, including courses in office administration and computers



  • some knowledge and skill in MS Office Suite in particular Word and Excel

  • some knowledge of office processes

  • familiarity with mail and courier systems

  • ability to operate office equipment

  • ability to work to a schedule

  • basic arithmetic skills

  • accuracy and attention to detail

  • interpersonal and communication skills

  • physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis

  • ability to type minimum 35 wpm

  •   Minimum one year office related experience
  •    Experience using MS Word and spreadsheets such as Excel
