As a member of the HR Client Services team, you will work closely with senior management on succession and talent acquisition for CMHC’s leadership community. You are an integrated business partner committed to driving high performance by developing, implementing and driving HR solutions that are aligned with business strategy while contributing to the development of corporate HR policies/programs for delivery within CMHC.


How You Will Be Contributing

  • Leads talent acquisition efforts for all leadership positions;

  • Provides analysis, advice, guidance and services to support the strategic management of CMHC’s leadership population, including members of Executive/Management Committee and the National Leadership Team (NLT);

  • Following CMHC’s succession management framework, launches the annual succession planning for Executive Committee, Management Committee and National Leadership Team. In doing so, works collaboratively with senior management and key HR stakeholder to ensure succession plans for CMHC’s leadership population are sound and effective;

  • Contributes to succession management and leadership talent strategy for CMHC’s leadership population, including the use of leadership analytics and measurement tools, and ensures that the strategy is implemented in accordance with direction from CMHC’s Executive Committee;

  • Contributing and /or creating presentations/succession findings to Executive and Management committee as well as CMHC’s Board of Directors;

  • Works with President/Chief Executive Officer for CEO ‎succession framework;

  • Coordinates NLT rotations and/or leadership cross-sector realignments;

  • In collaboration with other members of the HR Business Partnership team, manages the effective delivery of services (i.e. recruitment, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution and learning) to CMHC’s leadership population in addition to one client portfolio;

  • Provides advice and guidance to CMHC’s leadership population as required, related to their career aspirations and to learning and development and ensures, through the team of HR specialists, that their learning and development needs are met;

  • Partner closely with Centres of Expertise and participates as a key contributor in corporate human resource policy/framework development in all areas to ensure alignment with HR’s mission and vision;

  • Participates in project teams as required to help advancing HR’s key priorities; and

  • Actively supports the development of staff within own group.

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or Psychology plus a minimum of six (6) years of job relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

  • Experience in recruitment in particular at the leadership/executive level;

  • Experience executing succession and talent management strategies;

  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills experience;

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with corporate leaders on complex/sensitive issues,  influence decision-making and facilitate change;

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Human Resources Management policies, practices, theories and concepts;

  • Relevant understanding of HR trends, regulatory and legislative developments, and innovations related to talent management;

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) dealing with a variety of audiences;

  • Strong analytical skills that provide the relevant data to lead to informed decision-making;

  • Effective leadership skills, including the ability to provide coaching and feedback;

  • Demonstrated ability to identify new ways for HR to support business strategy;

  • Ability to simultaneously manage a range of priorities, at the strategic and operational level, under tight deadlines;

  • Demonstrated personal discretion and ability to handle confidential and private information appropriately;

  • Proficient in MS Office and other HR tools (web based recruiting systems, HRIS etc.);

  • Professional Human Resources designation an asset (such as CHRP, CHRL, CHRE or CRHA).
