Senior Manager, Human Resources

13 month Contract



Workopolis is seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources to join our dynamic team. As the successful candidate, you thrive on driving a strong culture, have a love for partnering with employees across the business, and are not afraid to push the envelope.


Reporting to the President, you will be accountable for the direction, development, implementation, and administration of human resources programs, policies and services at Workopolis. You will be required to build successful business relationships and provide leadership in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, performance, rewards and recognition, and health & safety.



Here’s what you’ll get to do: 


  • Ensure alignment and delivery of Human Resources programs focused on enhancing organizational performance, depth of talent, employee productivity and cost/reliability
  • Proactively consult with leadership team on a regular basis to ensure that practices are being adhered to and that effective human resources planning is taking place
  • Explore trends, innovation and best practices in the field of talent acquisition to consistently attract and retain top talent
  • Provide leadership, coaching and oversee responsibilities of one direct report; ensuring that skills and abilities are leveraged to their maximum potential
  • Monitor programs and policies to continuously improve effectiveness
  • Work closely with the finance team to provide monthly reports, and headcount updates
  • Act as a role model for professionalism and integrity when representing the company internally and externally

Here’s what you’ll bring to the role: 

  • University Degree with a focus in Business, Human Resources, Labour relations or other related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including at least 5 years functioning as a Human Resources Business Partner
  • Previous experience managing relationships with internal stakeholders; specific experience collaborating with sales, marketing and/technology organizations will be considered an asset.
  • At least three years of supervisory/management experience
  • Strong orientation to working with numbers along with proven analytical skills including analysis of survey and report data
  • Proven ability to innovate, design and roll out new programs
  • Previous experience in compensation and benefits administration
  • Understanding of applicable employment and human rights legislation
  • Relationship building skills; having the ability to lead, gain trust and confidence with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Effective change management, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly pick up new systems; i.e. HRIS, or Applicant Tracking Systems
  • The willingness to be hands on in every aspect of human resources
