Contractually Limited Appointment, Assistant Professor of Music
The School of the Arts seeks to fill a one-year Contractually Limited Appointment for an Assistant Professor of Music with strengths in Music Education and ensemble conducting experience, either choral or instrumental. The successful applicant will be qualified to teach introductory courses in the history of music as well as upper level courses in methods, education, and/or musicology, and ensemble(s) related to their field of expertise, from the following: Concert Band, Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra, Flute, Choir, and Women’s Choir.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a PhD or are near completion and who have teaching experience.
McMaster University is a research-intensive, teaching-centered institution in Hamilton, Ontario (70 km/43 miles from Toronto and 104 km/64 miles from Buffalo).

- Up to 5 documents related to teaching: these will be preferably full course outlines for classes in the areas outlined above; and, if not complete course outlines, then detailed examples of project descriptions that outline process and expectations that relate to course learning outcomes
