Job Description

Dalhousie University is seeking three new passionate and high-performing fundraising professionals to join us in  philanthropic outreach activities to donors to support the strategic priorities in their respective faculties.  Working closely with Faculty and University leadership, the Officers will implement a comprehensive fundraising program designed to engage supporters and to delight their donors.  Core to the Development Officer’s role is to directly identify, qualify, and engage prospective major gift donors on behalf of the University.

The Development Officers will work in concert with Dalhousie’s leaders, including the Assistant Vice President, Development, Deans, and other fundraising staff depending on the role, to achieve ambitious fundraising goals.  The new Development Officers will be members of a professional team that is supported by and works closely with advancement services, research, communications and administrative specialists in the University’s central Office of Advancement. 

Candidates should have significant progressive experience in a fundraising, business development, professional sales or related environment, preferably in a post-secondary education setting.  The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and have the ability to travel within North America.
