Kearl Mine Maintenance Scheduler – Kearl Site or Calgary, Alberta
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing mine maintenance schedules to support safe and efficient preventive and corrective maintenance activities at the Kearl site. The scheduler interfaces with various business units to create, adjust and update all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual schedules. This position facilitates reviews by Cross Functional Teams of draft schedules, and coordinates with the shutdown scheduler and area planners for scoping, planning and scheduling of all work. The scheduler assists in cost and resource analysis, provides recommendations to the Cross Functional and Asset Level Teams on resource utilization and PM program management, and reviews labor needs/availability with maintenance area supervisors. This position supports a continuous improvement culture and champions the Kearl Business Process.
Depending on business need, this position may be located at Imperial’s head office in Calgary, AB, or it may be a rotational role located at the Kearl site. If the position is located at Kearl, it will be a full-time fly-in, fly-out role from either Calgary or Edmonton. Relocation assistance to Calgary or Edmonton is available if required. Bus transportation is also available to the Kearl site for Fort McMurray residents at the beginning and end of each shift rotation. Kearl operations positions will typically be 11 days on and 9 days off (shift rotations start and finish with a partial-day shift).
The successful applicant will possess a combination of the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Post-secondary education in project management or other related technical field considered an asset
- 3+ years maintenance or trades experience
- 3+ years maintenance scheduling experience with heavy equipment
- 3+ years advanced CMMS and scheduling software experience (SAP/Prometheus an asset)
Preference will be given to applicants:
- Exhibiting exemplary prioritization skills
- Demonstrating detailed knowledge of maintenance processes
- Possessing above-average communication skills and a continuous
improvement mind set
